Viewing ofReference Material
Art students and others conducting research are welcome to make an appointment with us to view the works listed in the adjacent table.
It is also recommended for Europeans to use the online search system at KVK (Karlsruher Virtueller Katalog), in which all German and many European scholarly libraries list their available references. Sometimes the works are available for loan.
A list of further references about Australian art, which however are not yet in our reference collection, is also maintained and continually extended.

Cover Text
Yulyurlu Lorna Fencer Napurrurla (1920s-2006) was an important pioneer of the Central Desert art movement. She began painting with acrylics at the Lajamanu School art program in 1086, and within a decade had emerged as one of the most original and highly sought-after artists in the region. This comprehensive profile of Yulyurlu illustrates her bold and expressive artwork, with ist brilliant use of colour and ongoing graphic explorations of her Yam Dreaming complex from the Tanami Desert. Collectively these represent a major transitional moment in the history of the contemporary Indigenous art movement.
