Linear motifs represent Awelye, ceremonial body paint design associated with the Arnkerrthe (Mountain Devil Lizard) from Atnangkere country. Designs are painted onto the chest, breast, shoulders and upper arms with ground ochres and applied to the body with a brush-like stick called a Typale.
