Goondarrinyarrin is the southern side of Purnululu (the Bungle Bungle hills). Patrick Mung Mung used to walk through this country with his father George Mung Mung. One time, coming back from a trip to Goondarrinyarrin, Patrick Mung Mung´s father, his mother Buttercup and Hector Jandany caught some Daiwul (barramundi). One of the fish´s lips was torn when Hector Jandany removed the hook from its mouth. Buttercup ate that fish and then began to feel sick. She was pregnant with Patrick Mung Mung´s sister, Berylin. The spirit of the barramundi passed into the unborn child. Berylin was born with a hair lip, which she still has today. This event is called Jarrin.
