This painting depicts some of Nancy Naninurra´s father´s country. This country is known as Yarllalya, and is located south of Balgo in The Great Sandy Desert. The dynamic black line in the lower area of the painting is a kiliki, or
creek, which runs through the area. The bold, central black shape is a pool formed along the creek, which is found between small hills, shown here are the U shapes on either side. The smaller circular shapes are trees specific to the area, while the majority of the
painting represents the talis, or sand dunes, which dominate the landscape of the area.
