Untitled, 1997 Acrylic on canvas, 90 x 60 cm In this painting Angeline Pwerle Ngale depicts Awelye, ceremonial body paint design associated to the Bush Plum Tjukurrpa at her country Alhalkere. Arced shaped motifs represent the designs painted onto the chest, breast, shoulders and upper arms with ground ochres. The women pick the plum and take it back to their camp to prepare and share with other family members. |
