BiographicsBirthdate: ca. 1927 Language Group: Luritja/Pertame Bessie Liddle was born in 1927 in Middleton Ponds, southwest of Alice Springs. She can still remember how her grandparents taught her about tjukurrpa and illustrated it with paintings in the sand. This was the way Audrey Morton Kngwarreye learned the history of her people and her tjukurrpas, which inspire her artworks. She began painting in 1987. Paintings

The artist sings the ceremonial songs while it is being painted. This painting is atdepicts the site of Ejinjarra (Middleton Ponds). |
