BiographicsBirthdate: ca. 1937 - 2002 in McDonald Downs Language Group: Alyawarre Lily Sandover Kngwarreye is a spokeswoman for the Alyawarre people. Her adopted sister was the extraordinarily innovative artist Emily Kame Kngwarreye. Like most of the artists from Utopia, Lily Sandover Kngwarreye began to paint around 1988, after first gain-ing many years experience in batik artwork. Paintings

The arcs in the background depict the body paint design, with the large dots representing the wild bush potato Anatye. |
