The first workshop in Germany on Australian
Aboriginal Art and Culture took place on the 18th to the 20th of
October 2002, organised by the Evangelischen Akademie Iserlohn (Berliner
Platz 12, 58638 Iserlohn).
As well as contributing to the proceedings, the Aboriginal Art Galerie
Bähr curated a special exhibition on contemporary Aboriginal
Art which was on show until the 10th of November 2002. We are delighted
that this conference has been organised, with contributions from many
persons professionally engaged in the field, and we were very glad to take part in the lively discussions about the art of the Australian Aboriginal
peoples.
A printed copy of the proceedings of the workshop, based on the seminars listed below, will be produced in early 2003. Copies of the seminars (in German language) about the art and culture of Australian Aborigines can be ordered by email.
Organiser: Ralph Frieling, Studienleiter Ev. Akademie Iserlohn
